FaceMerge respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use the FaceMerge mobile application.
Guiding principle: Data minimization — we collect only what is necessary to operate the app securely, reliably, and transparently.
1. Information We Collect
a) Device & App Information
We collect limited technical information, including:
- An app-generated device identifier
- Device model and operating system version
- App version
- Anonymous session identifiers
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token (only if notifications are enabled)
Purpose:
- Secure authentication and session management
- Abuse prevention (including device-level blocking in extreme cases)
- App stability, updates, and optional notifications
ℹ️ We do not collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, contact lists, or precise location data.
b) Images You Upload
When you choose to create a merge, we collect:
- The image you upload
- The image you select to merge with
Important:
- Images are uploaded only when you explicitly initiate a merge
- Images are processed automatically and transiently
- We do not manually review, curate, or analyze personal images
c) Generated Images
We store:
- The merged image generated for you
- Minimal technical metadata (e.g., job ID, timestamps)
This exists solely to:
- Display your merge history
- Allow you to view, save, or download completed merges
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used only to:
- Perform face-merge operations requested by you
- Display merge history inside the app
- Prevent misuse, fraud, and automated abuse
- Improve reliability and performance
- Send essential service-related notifications (only if enabled)
We do not:
- ❌ Sell personal data
- ❌ Track users across apps or websites
- ❌ Perform behavioral profiling
- ❌ Serve third-party advertising
3. Face Processing Technology
FaceMerge uses automated face-processing technology, including the open-source FaceFusion engine (licensed under OpenRAIL-AS), to generate merged images based on user-provided photos.
- All image processing is performed on FaceMerge-controlled infrastructure
- FaceMerge does not share user images with FaceFusion or any third-party processing service
- Images are processed only at the user's request
- FaceMerge does not perform facial recognition, identity verification, or biometric profiling.
4. Image Metadata (EXIF)
Generated images may retain limited technical metadata such as:
- Application identifier
- Creation timestamp
- Internal job reference
This metadata:
- Does not identify you personally
- Is used only for technical auditing or abuse investigation if required
5. Data Storage & Security
- Images are stored in secure cloud storage
- Access is protected using short-lived, secure links
- Authentication uses industry-standard token mechanisms
- Device-level safeguards may be applied to prevent abuse
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data.
6. Localization (Language)
- FaceMerge supports multiple languages
- Language selection is handled entirely on your device
- No language preference is stored on the server
- Backend systems operate language-agnostically using neutral reason codes
7. Third-Party Services
FaceMerge uses trusted third-party services, including:
- Firebase (crash reporting, remote configuration, notifications)
- Secure cloud storage for image processing
These services operate under their own privacy policies and industry standards.
8. Children's Privacy
FaceMerge is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or updated policy text.
